self-represented litigants- great article!

This is a followup to those who participated in the AALL Pro Dev
discussion about pro pers-

There is an excellent article in vol 52, #4 of the Syracuse Law Review
(2002) entitled "Access to Justice For the Self-Represented Litigant: An
Interdisciplinary Investigation by Designers and Lawyers".

This article discusses how sociologists, architects, and other
non-lawyers teamed up with some lawyers and observed how
self-represented litigants find forms in courts, how they go about
pursuing their cases. It reports some of the main obstacles encountered
by SRLs include information overload, misestimation of own competence,
emotion hinders performance, and mental model of processes not available
and how courts can use technology to overcome some of these problems.
