We are trying to determine what happened to the general provision on
insurance agents' commissions. Looking at the Texas Insurance Code, Art.
21.07, Sec. 1(b) ["No insurer or licensed insurance agent doing business in
this State shall pay directly or indirectly any commission, or other
valuable consideration...."]. The pocket part indicates that Sec. 1(b) was
repealed by Acts 2001, 77th Leg., ch. 703, Sec. 8.01(7)(A), eff. Sep. 2,
2001. So, the question remains, what happened to the general provision on
commissions for insurance agents? Was it simply repealed? Was it re-written
and put somewhere else in the code?
*Any* help greatly appreciated.....
