The Law Library Association of Greater New York (LLAGNY) is proud to
announce
its TENTH ANNUAL “BRIDGE THE GAP” LEGAL RESEARCH PROGRAM.

LLAGNY's
BRIDGE THE GAP 2003
BETWEEN LAW SCHOOL... ...AND LEGAL PRACTICE
TENTH ANNUAL SUMMER ASSOCIATE LEGAL RESEARCH PROGAM
FOR LAW STUDENTS

On March 28, 2003, LLAGNY will sponsor its tenth annual workshop,
"Bridge the Gap 2003; Between Law School... ...and Legal
Practice," to introduce law students to the differences between
academic and practice-oriented research. The goal of the program is to
provide law students who will be summer associates or law clerks this summer
with some essential skills and expert guidance that will help them hit the
ground running at their summer jobs.

Sessions will address techniques generally not covered in basic law school
courses. A sample fact pattern will be used to demonstrate online and print
resources. “Hands-on” break-out groups give participants a practical
demonstration of multiple sources. A panel of attorney experts from the
private and public sector, and a judge will share practical advice and
guidance on the best ways to accomplish typical research assignments and
succeed as a summer associate or intern. Included in this workshop will be
frank discussions of the cost of research and tips for controlling such
expenses.
