The Thomas M. Cooley Law School, the second largest law school in the
country, is recruiting an Associate Director for The Honorable Thomas E.
Brennan Law Library. If you are interested in a position that will
challenge your skills and develop substantial knowledge in management,
planning, budgetary issues, and collection development, please consider
applying.

The Library proudly provides very comprehensive reference and faculty
liaison assistance in addition to being involved in a number of cutting
edge, technology-related projects. Over 20,000 patrons walked through
our doors during the month of October this past fall. This doesn't
adequately describe the amount of service also provided in the
classrooms, to our faculty, and to over 150 students participating in
real-life externships in multiple locations each term, but it does give
you an idea of the fast pace and dynamic climate at Cooley Law School.

• Developing annual budget proposals to implement long-range plans and
strategic goals.
• Recruitment, selection, training, evaluation, counseling, and staff

department including professional activities outside of the Library.

activities.
• Coordination of and participation in the faculty/librarian liaison
program and reference duty.
• Participating in teaching initiatives related to outreach for various
courses within the curriculum.
• Participation in collection development.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• J.D. from an A.B.A. accredited law school; M.L.S. degree from an
A.L.A. accredited
 library school.
• Substantial and progressively responsible law library experience
including at least five years of supervisory responsibility.
• Excellent problem solving skills, interpersonal and oral/written
communication skills, and the ability to assume a leadership role and
work effectively with library administration, faculty, staff, and
students.

including life, health, dental, vision, and prescriptions. Financial
support for membership in library-related organizations, attendance at
