Reference Librarian - Ross-Blakley Law Library, Arizona State University

Purpose and Scope - The Reference Librarian reports directly to the Head of
Reference Services and serves as a member of the Reference Services team.
This is a full-time, continuation track position.

Essential Functions - Participates in faculty services, which includes
serving as faculty liaison to assigned faculty members. Provides reference
services to other Library user groups: students, University community, legal
community and the general public. Participates in the development and
maintenance of the Library's web site. Trains students, staff and faculty in
the use of electronic research tools. Prepares user guides for the library's
electronic resources. Contributes to formal and informal instruction in
legal bibliography and research as assigned. Prepares bibliographies,
research guides, brochures and other publications. Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications - M.L.S. from an A.L.A.-accredited institution. J.D.
from an A.B.A.-accredited law school. Will accept applications from
candidates being granted M.L.S. and J.D. by time of appointment.
   
Desired Qualifications - At least 2 years of experience in public services.
Demonstrated experience with online legal research tools. Demonstrated
effective communication skills. Demonstrated commitment to customer
services. Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and in
a team.

General Information - 40 hours a week, includes one weekend day. Salary
$42,000 minimum, depending on qualifications and experience. The John J.
Ross-William C. Blakley Law Library has a collection of over 350,000 volumes
and a staff of 8 professional librarians and 13 classified staff. Arizona
