Why wouldn't we want a new generation to think of librarianship as a desirable career, however that comes about.

If you vote (okay, I couldn't resist), you get to see the percentages, so far. Librarian is ahead at 39%. But Policewoman is close at 35%. Architect lags behind.

I say embrace it, then provide input to Mattel on how best to portray or not to portray a librarian.

Just my two cents. (And only MY two cents. Not to be construed as endorsed by my place of employment).

You can't make this stuff up.
Vote for Barbie's new career at http://www.barbie.com/Activities/Calendar/icanbe_skater.asp
the choices are librarian, architect or policewoman.
Do you think Barbie knows LC? Dewey? the time of day?
And, most importantly, will her blush match the red on the Martindale volumes?
