Michael,
I don't see a date on the Cornell site on the right hand corner either.
When I look at the House site, the date on the sections show 1/2/01. My
understanding is that the Cornell site is 24 hours behind the House
site. When I teach Internet legal research seminars, I advise attendees
that Cornell is my preference when searching the Code, but to use the
House version if they need to be completely up to date since Cornell is
24 hours behind.
It's interesting that Cornell does not know the answer to this... Their
site says, "This version is generated from the most recent version made
available by the US House of Representatives... Any new version issued
by the House will in turn be mounted here within 24 hours" (
http://www4.law.cornell.edu/uscode/#TITLES).
