Dear Colleagues,

We are interested in hearing from academic law libraries about participation
of faculty in collection development.

I am assuming that all libraries accept purchase requests from faculty and
act on them appropriately. I am interested in hearing about faculty
participation beyond that. Information I am seeking includes, but is not
limited to:

What is your selection process? Committee, consensus, individual selectors
for assigned subjects, other?

Where does faculty participation occur? Faculty membership on collection
development committee, selection materials circulated to faculty, other.

For those law schools at which faculty have some participation in collection
development, what is the actual participation as compared to articulated
procedures? In other words, even if they say they wan input, do they
actually provide it.

Thanks in advance.
