Hi, everyone.
I am writing an article for the next issue of NJLLA In-Site on Job
Descriptions for Law Library Positions. Being that I'm pretty much a
solo in a private law library, I'm looking for some help.
If you have any examples of job descriptions for the various positions
(e.g. Director, Reference Librarian, Electronic Services Librarian,
etc.) found at the various types of law libraries (e.g. Private, Public,
Government, Academic, etc.), would you please e-mail, fax or mail them
to me? I'm going to use them as a jumping off point for the article.
Also, if you were involved in drafting the description, would you let
me know the process you went through in drafting it (e.g. how you
decided what to include/exclude, sources for job requirements such as
the AALL Core Competencies, etc.)?
Finally, any suggestions for good articles or other resources for
drafting law library position job descriptions would be great too!
I really appreciate any assistance you can offer!!
