Dear Law-libbers:
The Government Documents Special Interest Section of AALL is looking for
people to compile bibliographies of state legal materials. We are
seeking volunteers to update the following states: Alaska, California,
Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi,
Montana, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oregon, Rhode Island, South
Carolina, South Dakota, Vermont, Wisconsin, and
Wyoming.
The state bibliography series is an important service of the Government
Documents section. These bibliographies are purchased by many libraries
around the country and the income supports the work of the section. You
do not have to be a member of the section or a documents librarian to
contribute to this series!
Over the years bibliographies have been published for each of the 50
states, as well as Washington, D.C. Unfortunately, many of the
bibliographies came
out in the 1980s and are now very out of date. The Section has decided
to update
the whole series so it can continue to be a valuable resource for law
libraries. Dedicated librarians in a number of jurisdictions have
volunteered to work on this project, but we still need volunteers for
the 19 jurisdictions listed above. We would be grateful if you are
located in one of these jurisdictions if you would agree to undertake
the updating of the bibliography for your state or if you would
recommend a librarian in the state who you think might be willing to
work on the project. There is no hard deadline for the project and you
can work at whatever pace is convenient is terms of other job
responsibilities.
