My West rep happened to be dropping by the week I received the volume (of course it may not have been a coincidence, since I had left a voice mail message for him about my displeasure with having received this unsolicited shipment). He called West about it, since I had said that I insisted on a credit to our account, and was not returning the book.
The person he spoke with indicated that West had received many complaints about this book, and a credit would be issued, and I could consider the book a gift; no return necessary.
Apparently, West is getting the message.

Subject: another complaint about West's mass mailing of Miller volume
I e-mailed my customer service / account rep and was told that this volume (a brand new title) was on my subscription list so he could not send an return label or remove it from my account. He said he would forward it to customer service who in turn say they will get back to me within two days.
Since it is a brand new title that was never ordered - how did it get on my subscription list without my permission?
