MessageChris et. al, I spoke with my West key accounts rep. last week about the same issue for the same title, who told me that it was a marketing (not sales) decision to send this title, that she had no idea with whom to speak internally at West to stop this practice, nor did she have any suggestions about who I could talk with at West to effect the same result. I even offered to speak with the marketing person in charge of this title, to no avail. I was under the impression that our account had been coded so we would not get unsolicited shipments- guess not. It is a nice gift that West is providing to many libraries who question it, and obviously it is financially profitable for West since the acceptance rate overall must be high. However, the principle remains and it engenders bad feelings, which is surely worth something. Could this be an issue for CRIV? Regards, Martha

Subject: Dealing with some West unsolicited shipments once and for all, I hope
Just got unsolicited shipment from West (Miller on the Law of Modern Payment Systems). Called and requested that we no longer be sent these kinds of shipments. The CS rep says that our account has now been coded as such. If you don't want marketing shipments, I encourage you to call West customer service.
