Does anyone know of an article or is there a standard faculty/staff ratio
which can be applied for determining size of staff
in a public service department which provides services to the teaching
faculty (i.e. document delivery, interlibrary loan, reserves and the
regular circulation responsibilities.) The current faculty/staff ratio in
my department is 19:1. The department also has 9 student assistants who
help the full time staff. But, If the faculty is increased by 12, and
the law school expands 100%+ in physical size, additional people will be
needed to maintain the high level of service that the department currently
provides. Any information someone can share with regard to this would be
most appreciated. Thanks....
