A member of the House of Commons has contacted our library, asking about
archives for New York law firms for a project that involves the history of
Anglo-American Commercial Law in the 19th and early 20th century. We have
referred him to J. Myron Jacobstein's "A Bibliography of Published
Histories of American Law Firms Through 1995" (Tarlton Legal Bibliography
Series, No. 41; 1996), and suggested that he look at specific firm web
sites. If you have any suggestions on how we might better answer his
inquiry, though, I would very much appreciate hearing them.
