I was able to find some letters submitted by various professors. Go to
wwww.abiworld.org, click on site map, then scroll down to "Legislative News"
and click on legislative new (right below "Recent Bankruptcy Bills"). This
will bring up plenty of documents-just use edit/find to find the letters by
typing "professors".

Subject: Law Professors' letter re: bankruptcy reform
Help!
A May 22, 2002, article in the NY Times ("Law Professors Express Concern
Over Pending Bankruptcy Bill") refers to a letter signed by 66 law
professors that was sent to the conference committee that was in charge of
the Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act of 2001 (H.R.
333). In this letter, the professors criticized the legislation's
provisions on homestead exemptions.
A professor here is interested in seeing a copy of this letter. According
to the NYT article, it was made public on May 22, but I have not seen it
anywhere. I've tried the National Bankruptcy Conference's and ABIWorld's
web sites, done about a billion different searches on Google, FAST, Teoma,
Lexis, WL, etc. Since the letter was sent to a conference committee, I
can't go to a committee website to try and get it that way. I've tried the
home pages of Sen. Leahy and Rep. Sensenbrenner, the conference committee's
heads, with no results. Any mention I've seen of the letter so far just
refers to the NYT article. Naturally, the article does not specifically
name any of the professors who signed this letter, but only states that
they "are from some of the nation's leading law schools, including Harvard,
the University of California and the University of Texas".
Is there anyone out there who knows where I can get a copy of this letter?
Thanks for your help.
