As a new member of the organization (AALL), I propose to chalk up the fact
that I did not receive an invitation to West's Customer Appreciation soiree
to unknowing oversight rather than being unappreciated. While I must admit
to having near-successfully flown under West's radar for over twenty years
as a practicing attorney, I believe thay may be noticing additional
purchases, even if my name is not on the order. Nevertheless, it seems as
though the time has come to announce to the profession (and probably, as the
Register says, "World + Dog") that I am not above groveling.
Therefore, if there is some kind soul not going to the festivities in
Orlando next month and willing to part with an invitation to the West event,
I will be more than delighted to accept your ticket in the spirit in which
it is offered. Now, give me a minute to brush off some of this West Texas
dust.
