RE: Annual Publishers' Increases--Update

I wanted to ask Margaret if it was okay to post this. I also was
spurred to order Ken Svengali's book, which someone else
suggested was a good place to look. I was going to wait
until that book came in to send a post but people are getting
anxious for an answer. When Ken's book arrives I will let
you know what he says about publishers' inflation.

Generally accepted rule of thumb is 12 to 15%. Frankly outrageous in light
of the current 2% national inflation rate.

In February of this year, we conducted an inflation study on our own
collection, comparing straight actual expenditures per title. The results
are listed below. This study was by no means exhaustive, it does not catch
title changes, and is affected by the variations caused by volume vs.
pocket
part replacements.

Hope this helps!

Titles with spring renewals, and titles with name or vendor changes, are
necessarily excluded.

I know it's out there, I just can't find it at 5:15 pm.
Can someone please direct me to the latest info on annual
legal publishers' increases? It's budget time again.

Thanks,
