So it is now June 2002, two years after Volume I of Tribe's ACL was published and one of my firm's summer associates would like to know where
Volume 2 is because he has found a important reference to it in Volume 1.
I called WEST/Foundation Press and the new tentative release date for Volume 2 is "the end of 2003, if at all." My next question to my WEST rep is can can I get another Con. Law treatise that is actually complete, can my account be credited for the half of a treatise that I bought while I was under the impression that the second half would be forthcoming. Please see response below:
"The reference to the future volume was for information, not necessarily needed for research at this time
(between 2000 and 2003). No credit can be permitted at this time."
What does she mean not needed for research between 2000 and 2003?

This question must be going around! One of our patrons just asked. I did
call West and was told it would be July of 2002, if things go as
scheduled....

Subject: RE: Tribe vol. 2
Lesley,
This message was returned to me as undeliverable once sent to Lesley's
e-mail address, hence, I am posting it to the list:
I just acquired Tribe's ACL in May. The copyright is 2000. I have one
volume and the spine states "volume one". In the "Preface to the Third
Edition, Volume 0ne" Tribe wrote, "If I'm relieved finally to be finishing
this third edition, volume one, . . . The result is this first volume
containing eight chapters, corresponding in topical terms to chapters 1
through 8 of the second edition. The second volume will contain ten
chapters . . ." (emphasis & color added)
Here's the hit at Westgroup.com:
Book - hardbound Tribe's American Constitutional Law, 3d
(Vol. 1, University Textbook Series®)
Authoritative treatise on constitutional law.
You may have to call West or Foundation to find out when the second volume
is to be released.

Subject: Tribe vol. 2
Hi, all,
I have a judge who is having a problem believing there's no vol. 2 to
Tribe's American Constitutional Law, 3d ed., because the index in vol. 1
refers to vol. 2. (Thank you, Foundation Press.) Naturally, his problem
has become my problem.
Does anyone have any knowledge of when vol. 2 will be published?
