Lexis/Bender/Shepards Consolidation - those pesky aliens are back!

T'was just over a week a go that I sent out a missive with the joyous news that MumBLeS (MatthewBender-Lexis-Shepards, a lovely acronym that another listserv member coined) was FINALLY consolidating all their different numbered but identically invoiced accounts into one. So naturally, this morning while sorting through last week's invoices I discovered an invoice that arrived on the very day I sent out my consolidation request - an invoice on a brand new account number that was not included on the comprehensive list of absolutely every account number they had for our firm that MumBLeS Customer Service provided to me. It's for what used to be BPC, Book Publishing Co., who provide updates for the Los Angeles County Code and is the first invoice from them under the MumBLesS aegis.

Soooo - I just called MumBLeS and guess what? - they can't consolidate this account into the others because...well, to be honest I glazed over as the explanation was trotted out, something about how certain accounts could only be consolidated by left-handed, Lithuanian accountants on alternate Tuesdays in months without an R in them, the accountants in question were all taking the summer off, requests had to be chiseled in Playdough and baked in a vintage Easy-bake oven to a lovely golden brown....well, anyway, they can't consolidate them. So I'm back to sorting through all those identical invoices again.

Happy Monday.
