The first US forfeiture law may have come from a caselaw (The Palmyra, 12
Wheat 1 (1827)).

Hello
I am looking for the very first US forfeiture law was, and if it is possibly
still upheld today. I know it involved customs laws and it was probably
civil, but in history was used as a criminal remedy as well.
