In the movie, no one really states her name that I recall.

If the unedited script posted at http://scripts.cgispy.com/newsboard.cgi?user=starwars8 is authentic, that is her name. It is unfortunate and harkens back to mythology where Oedipus accidentally kills his father and marries his mother (Jocasta) who then commits suicide.

Jocasta is also a Marvel Comic character in the Avengers. She's kind of a fringe character: not a leading lady by any means. See http://www.geocities.com/Hollywood/2855/jocasta.html.

Also of note though, in the unedited script the Jedi librarian originally had more lines. I haven't searched http://www.starwars.com.

Jocasta! I don't intend to sound overly sensitive (and it _is_ a nice name)
but... how unfortunate. Does this reference play to the librarian stereotype
or against it? I'm not sure, but it is interesting.
