Washington Supreme Court Names New Law Librarian
The Washington Supreme Court recently named Spokane
County Law Library Director Kay Newman to the post of State Law Librarian.
Newman will join the Law Library effective June 3, 2002.
Newman has served as the Law Library Director in
Spokane since 1996, and will replace interim Librarian Tim Fuller, who is
also the Reporter of Decisions for the Supreme Court.
"The Court is delighted that Ms. Newman has accepted
the appointment as State Law Librarian," Chief Justice Gerry Alexander said
of the announcement. "Her many years of experience in Spokane County will
serve the legal community and the citizens of our state well."
Newman also served as a legal librarian for the firm
of Sutherland, Asbill & Brennan in Atlanta. She received her law degree at
Georgia State University and her Master of Librarianship at Emory
