Mr. Kristelli et al: It's great to know that there are people out there who value historical materials. Our library, the State Law Library of La.,--and I'm sure quite a few other public law libraries and very likely law schools--has a complete collection of all legislation and case law for the complete history of this country--including the colonial and territorial periods. We're always under pressure to weed out these materials because of space concerns. Thanks for endorsing the importance of having them available. Carol

Earlier I asked about historical state laws. I got a lot of feedback but found something that sounds interesting.
The New York County Lawyers Association apparently has a collection of historical laws for all fifty states. I called their librarian, and couldn't get anything definite about how far back or how truly comprehensive it was, but it's worth a try next time I need something. They serve non-members (a surprise!) and the fees seem very reasonable.
Their number is 212-267-6646. Ask for the library.
