CRIV Gram - [May 1, 2002] -

CCH has asked the CRIV to post the following message in regard to those libraries in the DC area affected by irradiated mail processes.

"CCH INCORPORATED is taking steps to help resolve the special problems our Washington, D.C. customers have been experiencing with products (print and CD-ROM) as a result of the mail irradiation process. We wanted to let you know what we are doing to help with this problem.

For customers in the Washington, D.C. area whose products have been destroyed, or who are otherwise missing CCH print and CD products as a result of mail disruptions, CCH will ensure that your products are complete and current and that you receive your CCH subscription updates and services in a timely manner and usable condition.

Special Interim Delivery Service
We are now using a special interim service for the delivery of print and CD products to customers in the Washington D.C. areas affected by irradiated mail.

Beginning the week of April 29, customers in the 202-xx through 205-xx zip codes will receive products via special courier service. This special service has been put into place across the board for customers in these zip codes. If you are a customer in one of these zip code areas, you do not need to take any action.

Missing Pages, Reports, CD-ROMs
If you are missing any back copies of pages, reports or CDs, you can use the CCH customer support Internet service to request this missing information. Simply, go to http://support.cch.com. Select Replacement Reports & CDs under the Self Service Tools box on the right side of your screen Enter your request in the form provided In the Comments box, write: DC Special Request.

Please Note: You must include the words DC Special Request in the Comments box for us to be able to process your special request. Also, you are not subject to the "maximum" limitations per request as stated on the form. For you special needs, you can ignore this language.

Or, you also can call us and request replacements at 1-800-449-6439.

Special Web Site
All of this information has been sent to affected customers by letter and also is posted on a special web site we have created to assist customers in the Washington, D.C. area who are experiencing problems as a result of irradiated mail. That site is <http://support.cch.com/dc>.

If you have other questions about your subscription, please call 1-800-449-6439. The toll-free number is available from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. CT. We hope these efforts will be helpful to you.

NOTE: Two senior CCH Customer Service managers will be in Washington, D.C. on May 3 to visit with customers so they can get a first-hand look at the problems you are experiencing with irradiated mail. If you would be willing to spend 30 minutes to one hour on Friday morning with us so we can better understand the issues your are facing with irradiated mail, we would greatly appreciate your time and assistance. Please contact Leslie Bonacum at bonacuml@cch.com or
847-267-7153 if you would be able to meet with CCH on this issue."
