Has anyone encountered a problem with billing/invoicing/accounts with
Bernan? I have been receiving statements with dates and document numbers.
The description column gives a string of numbers but no explanation. Since
I have not been receiving the notices for all my subscriptions indicating
that they are due for renewal or in some cases not receiving subscription or
shipment notices it is hard to reconcile the statement with the material
received. Add to all this I do not have the time to or staff to compare
numbers in different formats. I would prefer titles.
Also, I asked for an account history. I received a list of titles with a
final total of over $7, 000. When I added it up, it was around $2,000.
When I asked about the difference, I was told it was a programming error.
The new accounting system did not pick up renewals of serials. When I
questioned this and other things that I felt were a problem, I was told to
complain if I didn't like the new system of billing. The rep was very
helpful and pleasant, and she meant it sincerely. If I call, I am just one
person being forwarded to different managers or supervisors. I thought the
backing of the list might be more effective.
If anyone else is having problems with Bernan, please let them know. We are
voice that can promote intelligent and efficient change that works for us
and for the vendors.
