Alas, no one had any absolutely-wonderful-directly-on-target responses. Two
people recommended the Japan Company Handbook - it contains great snapshot
information about companies, but did not go into enough depth for our
purposes. One person recommended looking for 20-F's filed with the SEC or
for the company's annual reports as filed in Japan. One person recommended
Dun & Bradstreet's Who Owns Whom for Australasia, Asia, the Middle East and
Africa.
If other folks come up with different resources, I'll pass them on!
