Electronic versions of the Federal Register and CFR before July of 1980 do
not, as yet, exist. The easiest way would be for someone to optically scan
the poor paper copies (using methods that do not destroy the paper) and
then to index or key in the heading material. A similar project was done
for the U.S. Statutes At Large by Potomac Publishing Company
(http://www.potomacpub.com/) and resold to LexisNexis.

One of our professors has been looking for an electronic version of the
Federal Register/CFR from the 1960s. Would anyone happen to know where I
could obtain it? Westlaw and Lexis both go back to the 1980s; GPO seems to
only go back to the early 1990s. I did find some agencies with listings
from the 1960s, but nothing from Treasury - the agency he is interested in.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
Thanks very much,
Sandy
