Dear Colleagues,
We are considering building an in-house searchable database of legal and
business news stories related to our various practices for internal use
only. Sources may include print and online newspapers, newsletters,
databases, Internet sites and looseleaf news summaries.
I would appreciate hearing from anyone who has already created such a
database, and has addressed the copyright issues involved in such a
project. I am aware of the Copyright Clearing House but would like to find
out if there are other centralized copyright processing organizations to
consider. I would also like to know how many of us have decided to handle
copyright licensing on an individual publisher basis rather than going
through a centralized agency.
If there is sufficient interest, I will provide a general summary of
practices for the list.
Thank you.
