This is a real shot in the dark, but I'm hoping the collective brain can
help me. We're looking for the source of a quote, and all we have is a
paraphrase:
I won't fight, but if a fight comes to my door, my enemy will find me at
home.
or possibly:
I won't pick a fight, but if someone brings a fight to my door, the knocker
will find me at home.
Supposedly this is a quote from a President, probably from around one of the
World Wars, but maybe not. The attorney who is remembering it thinks it came
from a book called _The AMerican Presidency_. Two of the librarians here
have already checked our print resources, a site for Presidential quotes and
the Web generally, but let me know if you can find anything.
Thanks all - Cindy
