Cross-posted. Please excuse duplication; I tried to send this message before.
It is 2002 budget time and we have to calculate costs for our acquisitions accounts. The powers-that-be have provided an overall 4% inflation factor which in past years, has been far too low. In rior years, we have called leading publishers to inquire about their inflation projections. But before I begin that exercise, has anyone already done it this year? Experience tells me that an average 8% is standard, but gut feeling won't cut it with my office administrator. Thanks, and I will summarize for the list.
