Well, this was great! Lots of feedback on this question, and almost all of
it indicated that most people have trouble printing from WestMate 7.x. Many
sources
suggested reverting to the older version 6.32, something which we hadn't
tried
but are willing to give it a shot. Our IT department has been working on
this
this afternoon.
Just for interest, Several people reported problems printing from
westlaw.com from either IE or Netscape. We haven't run into that problem -
we've been using Westlaw.com with Internet Explorer 5.5 (and below) and
haven't had any troubles printing. We have computers running Windows 95 and
Windows 2000 - both seem to behave properly.
Of course, now that I've said that, something will explode.
Thanks to everyone who replied - it was great to hear suggestions and quite
a relief to learn that it wasn't just us having the problems! It is nice to
know one isn't alone. :-)
Cheers,
Jen

Subject: WestMate 7.33 - Printing Problems
Hello out there, fellow law-libbers,
We are having troubles with printing from the WestMate 7.33 software.
Sometimes it works, sometimes it freezes with an error message like
"Westmate could not complete your request because of a program error".
We have 2 or 3 attorneys who prefer the WestMate software to westlaw.com,
and actually refuse to learn to use the web version.
However, they are also rather annoyed that they have these printing
problems.
Out technical people have spoken to Westlaw techies, and their online
troubleshooting isn't helpful; we've done just about everything to try to
remedy the situation. It seems to be just bad programming.
Have any of you:
a) experienced printing problems with WestMate
b) found a solution for said problems
c) been able to cajole the attorneys into using westlaw.com instead?
Suggestions, comments, ideas? Help!
Thanks!
- Jen
