Proposals for presentations at the 2002 Legal Writing Institute
Conference are due by July 1, 2001. That's just over two weeks
away! Please take a little time from your summer work or play to
submit your proposal. Regardless of whether you have just completed
your first year of teaching or your twenty-fifth, you have much to
offer conference participants! If you have questions about the
proposal process, or if you would like to discuss proposal ideas with
one of the Conference chairs, please feel free to contact either Dan
Barnett or Suzanne Rowe at the addresses below. The text of the
original "call for proposals" message is reprinted here for your
convenience.
The 2002 Legal Writing Institute Conference will be held at the
University of Tennessee College of Law in Knoxville from May 29 to June
1, 2002. The theme of this tenth biennial conference is Reflections and
Visions. In the opening plenary session, featuring Professor Terri
LeClercq of Texas, we will reflect on the challenges the legal writing
community has met and embrace the challenges that lie ahead. The
conference program will allow us to mentor new teachers, share ideas,
examine our scholarship, and envision ways to expand our horizons and
blaze new trails.
The Conference Committee is pleased to send the attached Call for
Proposals, and encourages each of you to consider submitting a proposal
for a conference presentation. The theme is intentionally broad so that
the widest variety of presentations can be considered. Proposals should
be submitted electronically to dwilliam@law.uoregon.edu by July 1, 2001.
This deadline is earlier than in previous years because the Conference
takes place in May rather than July.
Three copies of the Call for Proposals are attached to this email. One
copy is a WordPerfect document, one is a Word document, and one is
in RTF format. If you are unable to retrieve the document as an
attachment, you can obtain a copy from the following websites:
http://www.law.seattleu.edu/clinics/lwinstit/ **Please note the
change http://www.law.uoregon.edu/~lrw/lwi.html
If you are unable to access the document through any of these means,
please send an email to Donna Williamson, LRW Program
Assistant, University of Oregon School of Law, at
dwilliam@law.uoregon.edu.
We look forward to receiving your proposals.
