One of our clerks found a reference to USA Standard B31.8. Our local
science library provided more information stating that it is now ANSI/ASME
Standard B31.8. I do not need a copy of the standard. What I would like to
know is what "USA Standard" means. Were ANSI/ASME standards previously
called USA Standards, and does the "USA" stand for United States of America
- maybe to designate that it was a standard in the USA versus another
country? Thanks for your help.
