"Twice as responsible!" That's what AALL's Social Responsibilities SIS is aiming to be as we announce our 2001 campaign to collect books for public elementary school libraries in both Minneapolis and St. Paul. We are grateful to all of the AALL members who brought childrens' books with them to both Washington and Philadelphia for the SR-SIS's first two successful efforts to give something meaningful to our host cities. We invite all fellow members to join with us in bringing along good children's fiction and non-fiction when you travel to the Annual Meeting. The SR-SIS will have collection boxes prominently displayed at our booth in the Activities Area of the exhibit hall. For those who prefer to mail their contributions in advance, Karen Westwood of the Minnesota State Law Library has graciously agreed to receive your books. Her address is "Karen Westwood, Minnesota State Law Library, 25 Constitution Ave., St. Paul, MN55155-6102. For those who wonder if there is a specific wish-list, the answer is si
mply to bring high quality books for elementary age children. If you wish to order online or from a source that will mail the books, you can send them directly to Karen in St. Paul. We'll be doubly thankful for your generosity!
