John and Fellow "Librarian Types" -

I watched the "Inside Edition" switch and noted that the coverage seemed
very one-sided.

For those who missed it, a brief summary: Here's the meek, mild-mannered
librarian: doesn't she look out of place trying on wild wigs and such with
the Vegas showgirls; doesn't she look uncomfortable trying on all the
revealing costumes and trying to keep up with the dance steps. (In all
fairness, I thought the librarian looked quite good in her costumes - at
least they didn't show her looking like the "stodgy, old, hair-in-bun"
stereotype!)

Meanwhile, back at the King County Library, the Vegas showgirl was taking
reference calls, fascinated that they had a resource that answered unusual
questions like "What is Donald Duck's shirt size?" (He wears a 3XL, by the
way.) At the end of the story, they showed the Vegas showgirl instructing
the library staff how to descend the library stairs in a chorus line - but
they never showed the librarian teaching the girls back in Vegas how to
answer a reference question.

All in all, a very trite fluff piece, but at least it showed librarians in a
good light for the most part.

I still think John should have done the switch...
