REFERENCE/INSTRUCTIONAL TECHNOLOGY LIBRARIAN
Mercer University Law School Library

Description: The Reference/Instructional Technology Librarian teaches
a one-credit first year legal research course in collaboration with a
team of five librarians, and may participate in teaching advanced
legal research. This librarian promotes and supports classroom
technology and provides training in its use; coordinates law school
media including scheduling services, and hiring, training, and
supervising student workers; participates in a rotating reference
schedule including evenings and weekends with four other librarians
and participates in the faculty liaison program; maintains and
continues to develop the law library web pages; participates in
collection evaluation and development. Librarians serve on law
library and law school committees and participate in professional
development opportunities.

Qualifications: MLS (ALA-accredited); JD (ABA-accredited); excellent
legal research skills; aptitude and experience working with a variety
of electronic resources; experience with web authoring and web site
maintenance tools; effective interpersonal, oral and written
communication skills; strong organizational abilities; strong service
orientation and ability to establish and maintain good working
relationships with coworkers, faculty, students, and the bar; ability
to work both independently and as a member of a motivated team of
professional librarians. Law library experience and demonstrated
teaching ability are highly desirable.
                                        
Salary: Entry level is $40,000, but commensurate with experience and
qualifications; excellent fringe benefits.

This position is part of a team of six librarians and eight staff who
support the instructional and research needs of approximately 400 law
students and 30 law faculty. The Law School is part of a dynamic
university with degree programs in medicine, pharmacy, engineering,
business, education and theology. The University has over 7000
students on its Macon and Atlanta campuses. Mercer Law School is

which is a city of 150,000 known for its antebellum mansions,
