The following positions are available. Please excuse duplicate postings.

Assistant Director/Technical Services

The purpose of this position is to direct and manage all activities associated
with the Technical Services Department, including Acquisitions, Cataloging, Serials,
Bindery, and Processing. Supervises and trains reporting staff. Supervises
all aspects of acquisition, classification and maintenance of library materials,
and recommends revisions in technical and administrative policies. Supervises
Supervises classification and assignment of subject headings to a wide variety
of printed and other materials in a broad array of subjects, primarily in legal
topics. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements: Masters degree in Library Science from an ALA
accredited program, and five years experience in technical services in a library.
Ability to use computer hardware and software, including OCLC, or an equivalent
bibliographic utility. Ability to establish and maintain effective and harmonious work
relations with students, faculty, staff, University officials, and the general public.

Cataloger, Howard University School of Law, Washington D.C.

Catalogs all new titles obtained by the law library and maintains web-based
card catalog. Provides primary original and copy cataloging of law library
materials in all formats. Participates in special collection cataloging projects.
Assists with other library projects as necessary. Performs other duties as
assigned by Assistant Director/ Technical Services.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements: Bachelor's Degree. Masters degree
in Library Science from an ALA accredited program. One year of cataloging
experience. Familiarity with legal materials. Ability and experience
with manual and computerized cataloging systems.
