A good place to start is the AMA's website, they have a physician directory
which give breif bios on members and non-members. http://www.ama-assn.org
The doctor finder as they call it is at
http://www.ama-assn.org/aps/amahg.htm
Also ABMS or the American Board of medical specialties lists directory info
for specialists, I believe this is on Lexis or Westlaw.
Doing a literature search on medline of anything they've written is also a
good source. You can search on pubmed at
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi use the limites to limit by
author, also medline indexes by lastname and first and second initial only.
If they are affiliated with a university you can try the university webpage,
I've had the best luck with this, you can find vita's articles bio just
about anything.
Hope this helps.
Good luck.

I've had a new question come up today. Our civil division needs to do some
background research on some potential expert witnesses. But they and I have
no clue where to begin. What sources are out there and recommended. This
particular time the witness will be medical--physicans and pathologists.
