Hello. I am preparing for a program on "How to Choose the Legal Research
Text that is Right for You" for AALL this summer and was hoping those on
this list could help me. I'd like to know which legal research text you use
and why. What are its greatest strengths? Weaknesses? Does the text
address electronic research and technology adequately? Does it discuss the
integration of manual and electronic research? Is supplemental material
(like a workbook) available? Do you use it or do you prepare your own
research problems?
Also please let me know what kind of class you teach--ALR to upper level law
students, stand-alone basic legal research to 1Ls, basic legal research to
1Ls in conjunction with a legal writing course, legal bibliography for
library students, legal research for paralegals, etc.
I would be happy to summarize for the list if there is interest.
