I have a search engine I can suggest - DtSearch. We are in the
process of moving our memobank to the intranet and are testing it
now and I really like it. They have a demo of the product at:

I especially like the navigational structure. It is similar to
the navigational structure of Lexis or Westlaw making it easier
for the attorneys to use. There is a split screen display with
your hit list on one side, and the full text on the other side.
It also includes next hit and next document function. Do you
currently have a document management system? This makes capturing
the documents much easier.

Our firm would like the library to begin a memo and brief bank. We
are a medium size firm, and have never made this type of resource
available to our attorneys.

Unfortunately, I have no idea where to start with this. Ideally I
would like to be able to link to the briefs and memos on our
website since I also maintain the firm's websites. I don't really
know what sort of indexing system to use or how to go about
collecting the memos and briefs. Does anyone have forms they would
like to share or procedures on maintaining this type of
collection?

You can reply to me directly and if anyone else is interested I
will compile the responses and post them.

Thank you very much for your help.
