I'm not familiar with Inside Edition, so I don't know what their track
record for this type of segment might be, but it would seem that the whole
point would be to dispel misconceptions about the work of showgirls and
librarians - both of whom work hard for the money, I'm certain. If it is
well done, it could really get some good information out about what
librarians really do, and showgirls, too! Poorly done it has potential for
exploiting both catagories for cheap and easy ratings. I'm very curious.
(I'd apply to make the switch, but I'm over the age limit.) stuart

Good Morning,
I have been thinking about yesterday's message re Inside Edition's
search for a librarian to switch places with a Las Vegas Showgirl to
dispel the stereotypical image of librarians. I am surprised that this
group, which is so contentious when it comes to librarian qualifications
and who is or isn't a "librarian", hasn't asked AALL to write a letter
of protest to Debra Norville asking her why she thinks a Las Vegas
Showgirl can do the job of a librarian.
Just something that crossed my mind . . .
