Position Title: Director of Library Services
The New York County Lawyers' Association, founded in 1908, is a 9,000
member non-profit association serving the practicing bar. The
Association's 200,000-volume law library contains both current and archival
resources. In addition to its excellent collection, the library provides a
variety a fee-based services and the assistance of a service-oriented
reference staff. Additional information about the Association can be found

Position Description:
The Librarian directs all aspects of the library's operations, including:
· personnel;
· income and expense budgets, including approval of purchases and
expenditures and monitoring and tracking of monthly invoices;
· collection development and maintenance;
· technology (hardware and software);
· equipment, including negotiating and managing vendor contracts;
· oversee the administration of the library's fee-based services.
Additional duties include:
· consulting on and teaching CLE technology training courses;
· supervising the operation of the Computer Technology Center, including
personnel and budget;
· overseeing the development and maintenance of the Association's Web site;
· working with the Library Committee to maintain and improve the library
through the strategic planning process.
· providing reference backup.
Reports to the Executive Director.
Skills: In-depth knowledge of technology and Web site maintenance.
High-level oral and written communication skills. Substantial knowledge of
library management and administration and high-level ability to solve
problems.
Qualifications: MLS and substantial supervisory and management experience
in a law library.
