Many thanks to those who responded to my Mark Twain e-mail and especially to Stacey Arehart from McGrath, North, Mullin & Kratz and her friend from the Public Library for furnishing me with the information.
In Mark Twain "Collected Tales, Sketches, Speeches & Essays 1852-1890" there is an essay under the subject Etiquette titled, At a Fire.
