Economic Forecasting....

This query is one that I have been meaning to make at least 3 times over
the past year! Today is finally the day! More and more, we are being asked
to support the Firm's Marketing Department. Many of the requests are very
straightforward, D&B reports, company web pages, etc. However, I am also
beginning to receive requests for a list of all the health agencies in xyz
part of the country...or economic forecasts for a particular county...and I
am not convinced that the answers we're providing are detailed enough or in
the right format (spreadsheets, pie charts, etc). Marketing is not
complaining but I think this is a potential growth area for the Library and
I would like to capitalize on it.
Do any of you have a strategy for these types of inquires? Are there web
sites you rely on, database the you subscribe to, training courses you would
recommend, etc?
If there is enough interest, I will post the responses to the list. TIA!
