death records

Hello colleagues,

I am searching for death records (free) for the state of Wisconsin on the Internet. I remembering using a database provided by the U. S. gov't that listed names and death dates. Was this part of the SSA database that was taken off their WEB site? I have looked at all the other sources (mostly pay) that provide death records but am not finding what I need. Any ideas?
