I will second Sheryll's warning. I was one of the many librarians
disappointed by the accomodations at the Clarion during SLA. It is
unfortunate that many of the hotels close to the Convention Center may be
booked, but if you do already have a reservation at the Clarion, try to find
an alternate location - the Marriott was very nice, but will probably
already be full. The Hyatt is nearby, too.
The Clarion Suites Convention Center was okay, JUST okay. I certainly did
not feel that the accomodations were worth anything near the price charged
per night. Many people also had difficulties with their reservations, so
please confirm your reservations with the hotel itself, not the Clarion 800
number. One government librarian was quoted one price over the telephone,
only to be told at the front desk that the rate was $20.00 extra per night.
