CRIV Gram--June 20, 2000: The AALL Committee on Relations with Information
Vendors is pleased to announce the availability of its newest CRIVTool.
Seeking to meet the needs of librarians who have found it increasingly
difficult to keep track of current publishers for particular titles in the
face of mergers and consequent title divestitures, CRIV has compiled the
"Divested Titles List," a consolidated list of divested publications in
alphabetical order by title.
The Divested Titles List can be used as a quick reference for those seeking
to determine if a particular title is still being published, and if so, by
whom. Entries include: title, new title (if it has changed since
divestiture), author(s), original pre-divestiture publisher, current
publisher and date of take over, and date ceased (if title died as result
of divestiture). There is also an easy-to-use on-line form that allows
users to let CRIV know of additional titles that should be included on the
list, or of corrections that should be made to anything that is already
listed.
The Divested Titles List was compiled and will be maintained by members of
the CRIVTools subcommittee, currently chaired by Rosanne Krikorian, from
information provided A.S. Pratt, Aspen Publishing, Lexis Publishing, RIA
Group, and West Group. The subcommittee wishes to publicly thank these
publishers for their assistance. It also wishes to acknowledge the able
assistance of Anne Myer, CRIV Webmaster, without whose expertise the
project might still be on the drawing board rather than ready for use today.
The Divested Titles List

CRIVPage, the committee's Web site, in the "CRIVTools" section. Other tools
