ASSOCIATE LAW LIBRARY DIRECTOR - HEAD
OF PUBLIC SERVICES
The University of Toledo College of Law Library seeks a highly
motivated and service oriented person as its next Associate
Law Library Director- Head of Public Services.
Duties: Reporting to the Law Library Director, the Associate
Law Library Director -Head of Public Services: 1) coordinates
the activities of the Acquisitions, Cataloging and Public
Services Departments and oversees day-to-day operations of the
Library, 2) advises the Director on all issues regarding the
Library including budget administration, collection development,
facilities planning, personnel management and technology matters,
3) assists the Director in long-range planning, 4) coordinates
development of the Library's Innopac system which is shared with
the University Library, 5) coordinates the Law Library's
involvement in OhioLINK, a state-wide college library consortium,
6) directly supervises all public services programs including
audio-visual, circulation, collection maintenance, electronic
services, instructional, inter-library loan and reference
operations and 7) participates in reference and instructional
services.
Required qualifications: A masters degree in library or
information science from an ALA accredited program; a law degree
from an ABA accredited law school; 4 years experience in academic
law libraries, showing progressive increase in responsibilities
including significant administrative and supervisory duties.
Strongly preferred qualifications: Demonstrated ability to work
flexibly with law faculty, students, staff and a diverse research
community; substantial knowledge of electronic technologies in
libraries and effective team-building and communication skills.
Environment: The UT Law Library is the largest legal research
center between Cleveland and Ann Arbor. An experienced Library
staff of 14, including 7 librarians, serves 30 law faculty, 450
JD students, 24,800 non-law students and faculty, 1,700 Toledo
area lawyers and 1.4 million residents of northwest Ohio and
southeastern Michigan.
Compensation: Very competitive salary. Fringe benefits include
