There was a short warning this morning from Erenia A. Dominguez of Baer Marks & Upham LLP about a new virus. Here is some additional info we received from our Court Automations Office:
Hello court users,
Please beware! Another email-based virus is popping up. It acts like the
"I love you" virus and will email itself out to folks in your address
book. VBS/Stages is a Visual Basic Script worm. It is a mass mailer
which spreads over e-mail in an attachment with SHS extension. If you
recieve a message that resembles this, delete it DO NOT OPEN IT! (Then
let us know what you did. Thank you)
The e-mails sent by the worm look like this:
From: name-of-the-infected-user
To: random-name-from-address-book
Subject: (Random subject)
Body: (Random body)
Attachment: LIFE_STAGES.TXT.SHS
The size of the attachment of an infected message is always 39936 bytes.
The "SHS" extension is not visible, even when Windows Explorer
properties have been changed to show all extensions.
The worm uses one of the following texts as a subject of the message:
Life Stages
Funny
Jokes
It might add either "Fw:" or "text" respectivily to beginning or to the
end of the subject.
The body of the message is also random. It may contain the following
text:
> The male and female stages of life.
When the attachment is opened, the worm shows the following text:

Age. Seduction lines.
17 My parents are away for the weekend.
25 My girlfriend is away for the weekend.
35 My fiancee is away for the weekend.
48 My wife is away for the weekend.
