I have not been able to make contact through the ORALL list and so I am resorting to this list.
Please read a new Ohio Supreme Court Rule Amendment, effective June 1 (tomorrow), which requires copies of unreported Ohio cases which are to be attached to briefs to be secured from the appellate courts themselves and not from "computerized research". See the May 22 OBAR page xli for the new language of Rule VIII, Section 4 (B).
If you believe, as I do, that this requirement sets legal research back 25 years, please call or fax a memo to Chief Justice Moyer and/or Marcia Mengel, Clerk.
According to Court Reporter, Walter Kobalka, this rule was to be non-substantive and therefore was not published ahead of time for public comment.
